As our tuition rates are lower than the national average, and we do not seek governmental accreditation, Isaiah University does not participate in the Federal Financial Aid program. However, we do offer our own Financial Assistant Program listed on our tuition/fees page under the Admissions tab. Only institutions approved for participation in the Federal Aid Program qualify for student relief status. This status is what is used by students who have previous federal loans from other schools prior to enrolling into our school, Isaiah U does not have the option for a deferment of repayment on those loans.
Deferments were designed to not impose an additional burden on students while they are attending another school. As Isaiah U's tuition rates are on the bottom of the scale, our students do not have such burdens as a result of attending our school. In addition, the average student on the federal deferment program is unable to work full time as a result of their course load with their college. Isaiah U's Programs are not designed to task students or prevent them from working either part or even full time. Our programs allow students to work at their own pace and most only attend a class once a week or once a month, thus are not considered "Full Time" by government standards.
We do provide verification letters of enrollment when requested for students who want to "try" their luck so to speak. Nevertheless, the Federal Department of Education does not have to honor your request if they decide your program at our school does not qualify for a deferment. If you are having personal financial issues, they will however, offer you a hardship extension for your federal loans.
We do not have an OPE Number. "An OPE Identification number is used by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) to identify schools that have Program Participation Agreements (PPA) so that its students are eligible to participate in Federal Student Financial Assistance programs under Title IV regulations. Isaiah University is not regulated or a member of OPE as we hold a religious exemption from the State of Florida Department of Education. As such, we are not required to have regional or federal accreditation or OPE number. Only those schools who are a part of the Federal Education Program can participate in Federal Programs." Form 1098T Education Tax Credits:
Tuition-paying students at eligible colleges or other post-secondary institutions should receive a copy of Internal Revenue Service Form 1098-T from their school each year. This form provides information about educational expenses that may qualify the student—or the student's parents or guardian, if the student is a dependent. Eligible institutions include most colleges, universities, and vocational schools that are eligible to participate in the Department of Education’s student aid programs. Schools that do not participate in the Federal Aid program are not required to issue a form 1098T. If the school is nonprofit organization, your tuition/fees are tax deductible and fall under the category of charitable giving.
Isaiah University does not participate in the Federal Financial Aid program. We are not required to issue 1098T forms. We are a qualified nonprofit organization for tax deduction purposes. Record your total payments as a tax deduction as a payment/giving to a charitable or non-profit organization.
